The a1AT serpina1 (Catalog #MBS2001932) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Alpha-1-Antitrypsin (a1AT) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Alpha-1-Antitrypsin (a1AT) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) - Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB).Western blotting: 1:100-400
Immunocytochemistry in formalin fixed cells: 1:100-500
Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 1:100-500
Immunohistochemistry in paraffin section: 1:50-200
Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 1:100-200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the a1AT serpina1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The a1AT serpina1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #50363217) (NCBI Accession #NP_000286.3) (Uniprot Accession #P01009). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Immunogen Information: Alpha 1-Antitrypsin (A1AT) is a protease inhibitor belonging to the serpin superfamily. It is generally known as serum trypsin inhibitor. It protects tissues from enzymes of inflammatory cells, especially neutrophil elastase, and has a reference range in blood of 1.5~3.5 gram/liter. In its absence, neutrophil elastase is free to break down elastin, which contributes to the elasticity of the lungs, resulting in respiratory complications such as emphysema, or COPD in adults and cirrhosis in adults or children. A1AT is a 52-kDa serpin and, in medicine, it is considered the most prominent serpin; the terms α1-antitrypsin and protease inhibitor (Pi) are often used interchangeably.
Cross Reactivity: Human. Conjugated Antibody: The APC conjugated antibody version of this item is also available as catalog #MBS2058027. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing a1AT are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as a1AT may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
