|The A2M a2m (Catalog #MBS6002831) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The A2M, NT (A2M, CPAMD5, Alpha-2-macroglobulin, C3 and PZP-like alpha-2-macroglobulin domain-containing protein 5) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s A2M can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).
Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA
Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000
Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the A2M a2m for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The A2M a2m product has the following accession number(s) (GI #66932947) (NCBI Accession #NP_000005.2) (Uniprot Accession #P01023). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the A2M, NT (A2M, CPAMD5, Alpha-2-macroglobulin, C3 and PZP-like alpha-2-macroglobulin domain-containing protein 5) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (Western Blot analysis of mouse plasma Iysates (35ug/lane) using MBS6002831. This demonstrates MBS6002831 detected the A2M protein (arrow).)
Alpha-2-macroglobulin is a protease inhibitor and cytokine transporter. It inhibits many proteases, including trypsin, thrombin and collagenase. A2M is implicated in Alzheimer disease (AD) due to its ability to mediate the clearance and degradation of A-beta, the major component of beta-amyloid deposits. [provided by RefSeq].
Immunogen: A2M antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 92-120 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human A2M. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing A2M are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as A2M may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. A2M also interacts with the following gene(s): ALB, APP, FN1, LRP1, PLG, TGFB1. Blood, Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Heart, Liver, Lung, Placenta, Prostate, Uterus, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. Alzheimer Disease, Brain Diseases, Fibrosis, Inflammation, Liver Diseases, Lung Diseases, Mental Disorders, Necrosis, Neoplasms, Nervous System Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to A2M, NT (A2M, CPAMD5, Alpha-2-macroglobulin, C3 and PZP-like alpha-2-macroglobulin domain-containing protein 5).
