|The ABCA4 abca4 (Catalog #MBS6003248) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RMP, CT (Unconventional Prefoldin RPB5 Interactor, RNA Polymerase II Subunit 5-mediating Protein, RPB5-mediating Protein, NNX3, C19orf2, URI) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s RMP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Western Blot: 1:250-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ABCA4 abca4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The ABCA4 abca4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #105990541) (NCBI Accession #NP_000341.2) (Uniprot Accession #P78363). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

The protein encoded by this gene binds to RNA polymerase II subunit 5 (RPB5) and negatively modulates transcription through its binding to RPB5. The encoded protein seems to have inhibitory effects on various types of activated transcription, but it requires the RPB5-binding region. This protein acts as a corepressor. It is suggested that it may require signaling processes for its function or that it negatively modulates genes in the chromatin structure. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide selected from the C-terminal region of human RMP (KLH). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ABCA4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ABCA4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. ABCA4 also interacts with the following gene(s): CNGB1, ELOVL4, PROM1, PRPH2, RDH8, RHO, RPE65, RS1. Bone, Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Kidney, Lung, Muscle, Ovary, Pancreas, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. Anemia, Cleft Lip, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 3, Disease Models, Animal, Macular Degeneration, Macular Degeneration, Age-Related, 2, Muscular Diseases, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Retinitis Pigmentosa 19, Stargardt disease 1 are some of the diseases may be linked to RMP, CT (Unconventional Prefoldin RPB5 Interactor, RNA Polymerase II Subunit 5-mediating Protein, RPB5-mediating Protein, NNX3, C19orf2, URI).
