|The AGT agt (Catalog #MBS837473) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Angiotensinogen antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Angiotensinogen can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB).
WB: 1:500-1:3000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AGT agt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The AGT agt product has the following accession number(s) (GI #532198) (NCBI Accession #AAA51679.1) (Uniprot Accession #P01019). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Angiotensinogen antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence analysis of methanol-fixed HepG2, using Angiotensinogen antibody at 1:200 dilution.)
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of 30 ug whole cell lysate (A:Hep G2) using a 10 % SDS PAGE gel and Angiotensinogen antibody at a dilution of 1:1000)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical staining of paraffin-embedded Hepatocellular carcinoma Huh7 xenograft using Angiotensinogen antibody at a dilution of 1:100)
Affinity purified Rabbit polyclonal Angiotensinogen antibody.
Biological Significance: The protein encoded by this gene, pre-angiotensinogen or angiotensinogen precursor, is expressed in the liver and is cleaved by the enzyme renin in response to lowered blood pressure. The resulting product, angiotensin I, is then cleaved by angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) to generate the physiologically active enzyme angiotensin II. The protein is involved in maintaining blood pressure and in the pathogenesis of essential hypertension and preeclampsia. Mutations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to essential hypertension, and can cause renal tubular dysgenesis, a severe disorder of renal tubular development. Immunogen: Angiotensinogen antibody was raised in rabbit using a recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 476 of Angiotensinogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing AGT are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as AGT may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
