The AK1 ak1 (Catalog #MBS2526334) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AK1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s AK1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AK1 ak1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The AK1 ak1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4502011) (NCBI Accession #NP_000467.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the AK1 Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of extracts of various tissues, using AK1 antibody.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded rat spleen using AK1 antibody at dilution of 1:200 (400x lens).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human thyroid cancer using AK1 antibody at dilution of 1:200 (400x lens).)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence analysis of A549 cell using AK1 antibody. Blue: DAPI for nuclear staining.)
Adenylate kinase is an enzyme involved in regulating the adenine nucleotide composition within a cell by catalyzing the reversible transfer of phosphate group among adinine nucleotides. Three isozymes of adenylate kinase have been identified in vertebrates, adenylate isozyme 1 (AK1), 2 (AK2) and 3 (AK3). AK1 is found in the cytosol of skeletal muscle, brain and erythrocytes, whereas AK2 and AK3 are found in the mitochondria of other tissues including liver and heart. AK1 was identified because of its association with a rare genetic disorder causing nonspherocytic hemolytic anemia where a mutation in the AK1 gene was found to reduce the catalytic activity of the enzyme. Santa Cruz Alternative: Potential replacement for Santa Cruz Biotechnology antibody catalog# sc-22567 / sc-17619. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing AK1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as AK1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
