The Aqp1 aqp1 (Catalog #MBS806693) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Aquaporin 1 Antibody: ATTO 594 reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Aquaporin 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).WB (1:2000), IHC (1:200), ICC/IF (1:400); optimal dilutions for assays should be determined by the user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Aqp1 aqp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Aqp1 aqp1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #6978527) (NCBI Accession #NP_036910.1) (Uniprot Accession #P29975). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Aquaporin 1 Antibody: ATTO 594 with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry analysis using Rabbit Anti-Aquaporin 1 Polyclonal Antibody (SPC-502). Tissue: kidney tissue. Species: Rat. Fixation: 4% paraformaldehyde-lysine-periodate. Primary Antibody: Rabbit Anti-Aquaporin 1 Polyclonal Antibody (SPC-502) at 1:200 for 75 min at RT. Secondary Antibody: FITC Goat Anti-Rabbit (green) for 1 hour at RT. 4 um cryostat sections.)
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of Rat kidney inner medullary homogenates showing detection of Aquaporin 1 protein using Rabbit Anti-Aquaporin 1 Polyclonal Antibody (SPC-502). Primary Antibody: Rabbit Anti-Aquaporin 1 Polyclonal Antibody (SPC-502) at 1:2000. Showing glycosylated and non-glycosylated bands.)
Background Info: Detects ~28.5kDa. May detect larger glycosylated bands ~35-50kDa.
Scientific Background: Aquaporins selectively conduct water molecules in and out of the cell, while preventing the passage of ions and other solutes. Known as water channels, they are integral membrane pore proteins (1, 2). Aquarporin 1 is a widely expressed water channel, found in the basolateral and apical plasma membranes of the proximal tubes, the descending loop of Henel and in the descending portion of the vasa recta. Additionally it is found in red blood cells, vascular endothelium, gastrointestinal tract, sweat glands and lungs. It is not regulated by vasopressin (3).
Conjugate: ATTO 594
Immunogen: Produced against the N-terminal peptide (Sequence N-MASEFKKLF) of rat Aquaporin 1. Certificate of Analysis: 0.5ug/ml of MBS806693 was sufficient for detection of aquaporin 1 in 10 ug of rate kidney tissue lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-rabbit IgG: HRP as the secondary antibody.
Reasearch Areas: Aquaporins, Ion Channels, Neuroscience, Neurotransmission. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Aqp1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Aqp1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
