The ATG12 atg12 (Catalog #MBS224001) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI ATG12 (INTERNAL REGION) reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s ATG12 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB).Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 40 kDa in mouse heart tissue lysate.
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 2.5ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATG12 atg12 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The ATG12 atg12 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #84042517) (NCBI Accession #NP_001033584.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the RABBIT ANTI ATG12 (INTERNAL REGION) with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data #1 (Western blot analysis of mouse heart lysate probed with Rabbit anti Human ATG12 (MBS224001) im the absence (A) or presence (B) of blocking peptide)
Testing Data #2 (Immunohistochemical staining of human brain tissue with Rabbit anti Human ATG12 (MBS224001))
Rabbit anti ATG12 (Internal Region) antibody recognizes human Autophagy-related protein 12 (ATG12). ATG12, a member of the autophagy protein family, forms a conjugate with ATG5; this conjugate has an ubiquitin-protein ligase (E3)-like activity for protein lipidation in autophagy. This conjugate also associates with innate immune response proteins such as RIG-I and VISA, inhibiting type I interferon production and permitting viral replication in host cells. ATG12 has also been shown to interact with ATG10 in human embryonic kidney cells in the presence of ATG7. There are at least two isoforms of ATG12.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.02% Sodium Azide (NaN3). Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to a 15 aa sequence from near the centre of human ATG12.
Histology Positive Control Tissue: Human brain
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation: Antiserum to human ATG12 was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species: Human. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ATG12 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ATG12 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
