The BRG1 brg1 (Catalog #MBS839044) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s BRG1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB).WB: 1:500-1:2500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BRG1 brg1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The BRG1 brg1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #2290990) (NCBI Accession #AAC46260.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Rabbit polyclonal BRG1 antibody.
Biological Significance: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins and is similar to the brahma protein of Drosophila. Members of this family have helicase and ATPase activities and are thought to regulate transcription of certain genes by altering the chromatin structure around those genes. The encoded protein is part of the large ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex SNF/SWI, which is required for transcriptional activation of genes normally repressed by chromatin. In addition, this protein can bind BRCA1, as well as regulate the expression of the tumorigenic protein CD44. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Cross-Reactivity: Human, Mouse
Immunogen: BRG1 antibody was raised in Rabbit using synthetic peptide from a portion of human BRG1/SMARCA4 protein as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing BRG1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as BRG1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
