The cIAP-2/HIAP-1 birc3 (Catalog #MBS840501) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The cIAP-2 / HIAP-1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s cIAP-2/HIAP-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
Western blot analysis (0.5-4 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Jurkat cell lysate can be used as a positive control. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the cIAP-2/HIAP-1 birc3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The cIAP-2/HIAP-1 birc3 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4502139) (NCBI Accession #NP_001156.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q13489). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the cIAP-2 / HIAP-1 Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data
Testing Data cIAP-2/HIAP-1.

Background: Apoptosis can be inhibited by a group of proteins called inhibitors of apoptosis (IAPs). These proteins contain a BIR (baculovirus IAP repeat) domain near the amino-terminus. The BIR domain can bind some caspases. Many members of the IAP family of proteins block proteolytic activation of caspase-3 and -7. For example, XIAP, cIAP-1 and cIAP-2 appear to block cytochrome c-induced activation of caspase-9, thereby preventing initiation of the caspase cascade. Since cIAP-1 and cIAP-2 were first identified as components in the cytosolic death domain-induced complex associated with the TNF family of receptors, they may inhibit apoptosis by additional mechanisms.

Immunogen: Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 510 of human cIAP-2. Handling: The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing cIAP-2/HIAP-1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as cIAP-2/HIAP-1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. cIAP-2/HIAP-1 also interacts with the following gene(s): CASP3, CASP7, CASP9, CD40, DIABLO, TRAF1, TRAF2, TRAF3, UBE2D2. Breast Neoplasms, Carcinoma, Squamous Cell, Cell Transformation, Neoplastic, Chromosome Aberrations, Inflammation, Leukemia, Liver Diseases, Multiple Myeloma, Necrosis, Nervous System Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to cIAP-2 / HIAP-1 Antibody.
