The CKM ckm (Catalog #MBS9209682) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CKM Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Bovine, Pig, Rabbit) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CKM can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS).WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CKM ckm for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CKM ckm product has the following accession number(s) (GI #21536288) (NCBI Accession #NP_001815.2) (Uniprot Accession #P06732). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the CKM Antibody (C-term) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (The anti-CKM Pab is used in Western blot to detect CKM in C6 cell lysate.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human skeletal muscle reacted with the primary antibody, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma; HC = hepatocarcinoma.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (Flow cytometric analysis of HepG2 cells using Creatine Kinase MB (CKM) Antibody (C-term)(bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
Creatine kinase isoenzymes play a central role in energy transduction in tissues with large, fluctuating energy demands, such as skeletal muscle, heart, brain and spermatozoa. The CKM isoform, predominant in skeletal muscle and heart tissue, is a cytoplasmic enzyme involved in energy homeostasis and is an important serum marker for myocardial infarction. CKM reversibly catalyzes the transfer of phosphate between ATP and various phosphogens such as creatine phosphate. It acts as a homodimer in striated muscle as well as in other tissues, and as a heterodimer with a similar brain isozyme in heart. The encoded protein is a member of the ATP:guanido phosphotransferase protein family.
Antigen Type: Synthetic Peptide. Antigen Source: HUMAN. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CKM are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CKM may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
