The DAI zbp1 (Catalog #MBS223548) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s DAI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)*.Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 46 kDa in mouse small intestine tissue lysate
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.5; Maximum Dilution: 1.0ug/ml; Application Note: Reduced and denatured conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DAI zbp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The DAI zbp1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #238550208) (NCBI Accession #NP_001153889.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q9H171). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the RABBIT ANTI DAI with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data #1 (Western blot analysis of mouse small intestine lysate probed with Rabbit anti Human DAI (MBS223498) at 0.5(A), 1(B) and 2(C))
Testing Data #2 (Formalin fixed, paraffin embedded human small intestine stained with Rabbit anti Human DAI (MBS223498) following heat mediated antigen retrieval using sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0))
This product recognizes human DAI, also known as Z-DNA Binding Protein (ZBP1), a 46kDa DNA binding protein belonging to a family of proteins that contain a Za domain which specifically binds to the left-handed Z-DNA and Z-RNA. Initial studies suggested that DAI may be involved in processes such host response to neoplasia. Additional research has indicated that the cytosolic DAI can act like the toll-like receptor TLR9 by detecting cytosolic double-stranded (ds) DNA and trigger induction of type I interferon and other innate immune responses. It is thought that the binding of DAI to dsDNA enhances its association with innate immune response proteins such as the IRF3 transcription factor and the serine/threonine kinase TBK1 (also known as NAK). DAI is highly expressed in lymphatic tissues such as lymph nodes, leukocytes, tonsil, bone marrow and spleen. Expression at a lower level is also seen in thymus, lung and liver. It has been demonstrated that multiple isoforms of DAI exist.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.02% Sodium Azide (NaN3). Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to an 18 amino acid sequence from near the carboxy terminus of human ZBP1.
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation: Antisera to human DAI were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species: Human.
