The DCTN1 dctn1 (Catalog #MBS2525441) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DCTN1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s DCTN1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).WB: 1:200-1:1000
IHC: 1:100-1:300. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DCTN1 dctn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The DCTN1 dctn1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #299890875) (NCBI Accession #NP_001177766.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

This gene encodes the largest subunit of dynactin, a macromolecular complex consisting of 10 subunits ranging in size from 22 to 150 kD. Dynactin binds to both microtubules and cytoplasmic dynein. Dynactin is involved in a diverse array of cellular functions, including ER-to-Golgi transport, the centripetal movement of lysosomes and endosomes, spindle formation, chromosome movement, nuclear positioning, and axonogenesis. This subunit interacts with dynein intermediate chain by its domains directly binding to dynein and binds to microtubules via a highly conserved glycine-rich cytoskeleton-associated protein (CAP-Gly) domain in its N-terminus. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
Immunogen: Recombinant protein of human DCTN1
Calculated Molecular Weight: 142kDa. Buffer: PBS with 0.05% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing DCTN1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as DCTN1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Blood, Brain, Epididymis, Heart, Lymph, Muscle, Nerve, Ovary, Skin, Spinal Cord tissues are correlated with this protein. DCTN1 also interacts with the following gene(s): CLIP1, DCTN3, DYNC1H1.
