The DR6 dr6l (Catalog #MBS613867) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DR6 (NT) (Death Receptor6) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s DR6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DR6 dr6l for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The DR6 dr6l product has the following accession number(s) (GI #853974) (Uniprot Accession #Q89584). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Apoptosis is induced by certain cytokines including TNF and Fas ligand of the TNF family through their death domain-containing receptors, TNF-R1 and Fas. Several novel death receptors including DR3, DR4, and DR5 were recently identified. A new death domain containing receptor in the TNFR family was cloned recently and termed DR6 for death receptor-6 (1). Like TNF-R1, DR6 interacts with death domain-containing adapter molecule TRADD. Overexpression of DR6 induces apoptosis and activates NF-kB and JNK. DR6 is widely expressed in human tissues and cell lines (1). The ligand for DR6 has not been identified.
Immunogen: Peptide corresponding to amino acids 42 to 56 of human DR6 precursor (1). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing DR6 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as DR6 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
