The ERVK-7 ervk-7 (Catalog #MBS9216561) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ERVK-7 Antibody (N-Term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s ERVK-7 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA, IHC-P.WB~~:1000-1:2000
IHC-P~~1:25. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ERVK-7 ervk-7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The ERVK-7 ervk-7 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #47605618) (NCBI Accession #P61567.1) (Uniprot Accession #P61567). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the ERVK-7 Antibody (N-Term) with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (MBS9216561 staining ERVK-7 in human placenta tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P - paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections). Tissue was fixedwith formaldehyde and blocked with 3% BSA for 0. 5 hour at room temperature; antigen retrieval was by heat mediation with a citrate buffer (pH6). Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/25) for 1 hours at 37C. An undiluted biotinylated goat polyvalent antibody was used as the secondary antibody.)
Western Blot (WB) (All lanes : Anti-ERVK-7 Antibody (N-Term) at 1:1000-1:2000 dilution
Lane 1: Raji whole cell lysate
Lane 2: human lung lysate
Lane 3: human testis lysate
Lysates/proteins at 20 ug per lane.
Secondary
Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated at 1/10000 dilution.
Predicted band size : 67 kDa
Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.)
Retroviral envelope proteins mediate receptor recognition and membrane fusion during early infection. Endogenous envelope proteins may have kept, lost or modified their original function during evolution. TM anchors the envelope heterodimer to the viral membrane through one transmembrane domain. The other hydrophobic domain, called fusion peptide, mediates fusion of the viral membrane with the target cell membrane (By similarity).

Cellular Location: Virion.
Tissue Location: Expressed in lung, placenta, testis and peripheral blood lymphocytes. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ERVK-7 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ERVK-7 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
