The FABP2 fabp2 (Catalog #MBS2523714) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FABP2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FABP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).WB: 1:200-1:1000
IHC: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FABP2 fabp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FABP2 fabp2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #194097325) (NCBI Accession #NP_000125.2). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the FABP2 Polyclonal Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of Mouse small intestine tissue using FABP2 Polyclonal Antibody at dilution of 1:300)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded Human breast cancer using FABP2 Polyclonal Antibody at dilution of 1:30)
The intracellular fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) belong to a multigene family with nearly twenty identified members. FABPs are divided into at least three distinct types, namely the hepatic-, intestinal- and cardiac-type. They form 14-15 kDa proteins and are thought to participate in the uptake, intracellular metabolism and/or transport of long-chain fatty acids. They may also be responsible in the modulation of cell growth and proliferation. Intestinal fatty acid-binding protein 2 gene contains four exons and is an abundant cytosolic protein in small intestine epithelial cells. This gene has a polymorphism at codon 54 that identified an alanine-encoding allele and a threonine-encoding allele. Thr-54 protein is associated with increased fat oxidation and insulin resistance.

Calculated Molecular Weight: 15kDa. Buffer: PBS with 0.05% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FABP2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FABP2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. FABP2 also interacts with the following gene(s): FABP1, HNF4A, INSIG2, MLXIPL. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
