The FABP7 fabp7 (Catalog #MBS623697) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Fatty Acid Binding Protein, Adipocyte (FABP) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Fatty Acid Binding Protein, Adipocyte can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000
ELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FABP7 fabp7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FABP7 fabp7 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #2645203) (Uniprot Accession #O15540). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Fatty acids are important for general cellular metabolism. A number of proteins have been implicated in the transport and storage of fatty acid. FABPs (fatty acid binding proteins) are a group of cytoplasmic, small mol wt (14-15kD) and proteins that has widespread tissue distribution. FABPs can bind long-chain fatty acid, fatty-acid acyl-CoA and acyl-L-carnitine. Several different isoforms of FABP have been identified and generally referred to by tissue type (liver, heart, intestine, adipocyte, kidney, brain etc; protein designated as H-FABP indicates that it is heart type). However, expression of these isoforms is not exclusive and more than one isoforms can be found in a given cell or tissue. FABPs share significant degree of sequence homology. FABPs are also known as mammary derived growth inhibitor (MDGI), adipocyte lipid binding protein (ALBP), Myelin protein P2 homolog, P2 adipocyte protein, 422 protein (P15).
Immunogen: A 20 aa synthetic peptide from rat adipocyte FABP (AFABP). Epitope: C-terminus. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FABP7 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FABP7 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Bone, Brain, Connective Tissue, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Heart, Kidney, Lung, Mammary Gland, Skin tissues are correlated with this protein. Carcinoma, Cardiovascular Diseases, Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2, Fatty Liver, Intestinal Diseases, Liver Diseases, Metabolic Diseases, Myocardial Infarction, Myocardial Ischemia, Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to Fatty Acid Binding Protein, Adipocyte (FABP).
