The FAIM2 n/a (Catalog #MBS2528966) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FAIM2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FAIM2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FAIM2 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FAIM2 n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #649107097) (NCBI Accession #AIC50903.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the FAIM2 Polyclonal Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded Human cervical cancer tissue using FAIM2 Polyclonal Antibody at dilution 1:40)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded Human tonsil tissue using FAIM2 Polyclonal Antibody at dilution 1:40)
FAIM2 (Fas apoptotic inhibitory molecule 2), also known as LFG (Protein lifeguard), TMBIM2 (Transmembrane BAX inhibitor motif-containing protein 2) and NMP35 (neural membrane protein 35), is a 316 amino acid multipass membrane protein that uniquely protects cells from Fas-induced apoptosis. Though widely expressed, FAIM2 expression is highest in hippocampus. FAIM2 contains seven transmembrane domains and resembles Bax Inhibitor-1, another anti-apoptotic protein. Overexpression of FAIM2 results in decreased caspase activation and reduced incidence of programmed cell death.
Immunogen: Recombinant protein of human FAIM2. Buffer: PBS with 0.05% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FAIM2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FAIM2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
