The FGF18 fgf18 (Catalog #MBS626349) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FGF18, NT (Fibroblast Growth Factor 18, FGF-18, zFGF5, UNQ420/PRO856) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FGF18 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Western Blot: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FGF18 fgf18 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FGF18 fgf18 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4503695) (NCBI Accession #NP_003853.1) (Uniprot Accession #O76093). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the FGF18, NT (Fibroblast Growth Factor 18, FGF-18, zFGF5, UNQ420/PRO856) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of FGF18 antibody (N-term) in NCI-H460 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). FGF18 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
FGF18 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. It has been shown in vitro that this protein is able to induce neurite outgrowth in PC12 cells. Studies of the similar proteins in mouse and chick suggested that this protein is a pleiotropic growth factor that stimulates proliferation in a number of tissues, most notably the liver and small intestine. Knockout studies of the similar gene in mice implied the role of this protein in regulating proliferation and differentiation of midline cerebellar structures.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide selected from the N-terminal region of human FGF18 (KLH). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FGF18 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FGF18 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
