The FGF2 fgf2 (Catalog #MBS641205) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FGF2, ID (FGF2, FGFB, Fibroblast growth factor 2, Basic fibroblast growth factor, Heparin-binding growth factor 2) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FGF2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF).Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, ELISA
Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Western Blot: 1:100-500
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100
Immunofluorescence: 1:10-50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FGF2 fgf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FGF2 fgf2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #153285461) (NCBI Accession #NP_001997.5) (Uniprot Accession #P09038). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the FGF2, ID (FGF2, FGFB, Fibroblast growth factor 2, Basic fibroblast growth factor, Heparin-binding growth factor 2) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (FGF2 Antibody (Center) western blot analysis in NCI-H460 cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the FGF2 antibody detected the FGF2 protein (arrow).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (FGF2 Antibody (Center) immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human hepatocarcinoma followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the FGF2 Antibody (Center) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of FGF2 Antibody (Center) with HepG2 cell followed by Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG (green).DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue).)
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members bind heparin and possess broad mitogenic and angiogenic activities. This protein has been implicated in diverse biological processes, such as limb and nervous system development, wound healing, and tumor growth. The mRNA for this gene contains multiple polyadenylation sites, and is alternatively translated from non-AUG (CUG) and AUG initiation codons, resulting in five different isoforms with distinct properties. The CUG-initiated isoforms are localized in the nucleus and are responsible for the intracrine effect, whereas, the AUG-initiated form is mostly cytosolic and is responsible for the paracrine and autocrine effects of this FGF. Immunogen: FGF2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 37-66 amino acids from the Central region of human FGF2.
