The FOXC1 foxc1 (Catalog #MBS646519) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FOXC1 (Forkhead Box Protein C1, Forkhead-related Protein FKHL7, Forkhead-related Transcription Factor 3, FREAC-3, FKHL7, FREAC3) reacts with Human, Mouse, Porcine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FOXC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000
Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml, observed in lysates of cell line HEK293 on ~55kD bands. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FOXC1 foxc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FOXC1 foxc1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #119395716) (NCBI Accession #NP_001444.2) (Uniprot Accession #Q12948). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the FOXC1 (Forkhead Box Protein C1, Forkhead-related Protein FKHL7, Forkhead-related Transcription Factor 3, FREAC-3, FKHL7, FREAC3) with the following immunoassay(s):
Chemiluminescence ((2ug/ml) staining of HEK293 lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.)
FOXC1, otherwise known as Forkhead box C1, a member of the Forkhead family of transcription factors, shown to be involved in the development of the eye. Studies have shown that FOXC1 plays an important role in the regulation of the FGF19-FGFR4-MAPK pathway involved in the maintenance of anterior segment structures within the eye. Studies have also shown that FOXC1 is essential for the aggressive phenotype of basal-like triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), for which FOXC1 may prove to be a valuable marker. Mutations in the FOXC1 gene are responsible for various ocular abnormalities including Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome (ARS), iridogoniodysgenesis anomaly (IGDA), and Peters anomaly.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-DAVKDKEEKDRLH, from human FOXC1, at the internal region of the protein (NP_001444.2). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FOXC1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FOXC1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
