The GATA2 gata2 (Catalog #MBS176179) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GATA2 antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GATA2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GATA2 gata2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The GATA2 gata2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #229462971) (NCBI Accession #P23769.3) (Uniprot Accession #P23769). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Endothelial transcription factor GATA-2(GATA2) detection. Tested with WB in Human, Mouse, Rat.
Background: GATA2(GATA binding protein 2) is a human gene which makes a protein called GATA binding protein 2 - a transcription factor. The GATA family of transcription factors, which contain zinc fingers in their DNA binding domain, have emerged as candidate regulators of gene expression in hematopoietic cells. Ciciotte et al.(1997)mapped the mouse Gata2 gene to chromosome 6 by study of DNA from an interspecific backcross panel. They pointed out that the human gene had been mapped to chromosome 3 by Dorfman et al.(1992) using DNA from a panel of 12 rodent/human hybrids containing various human chromosomes and applying Southern blot analysis. By exon trapping using a PAC contig spanning a breakpoint region associated with myeloid leukemia, Wieser et al.(2000) mapped the GATA2 gene to chromosome 3q21. GATA2 is transcribed from telomere to centromere. GATA2 is expressed in hematopoietic progenitors, including early erythroid cells, mast cells, and megakaryocytes, and also in nonhematopoietic embryonic stem cells.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of human GATA2 (46-60aa DVFFNHLDSQGNPYY), identical to the related rat and mouse sequences. Contents: Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.05mg NaN3.
Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GATA2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GATA2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
