The GREEN FLUORESCENT PROTEIN gfp (Catalog #MBS221855) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s GREEN FLUORESCENT PROTEIN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GREEN FLUORESCENT PROTEIN gfp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The GREEN FLUORESCENT PROTEIN gfp product has the following accession number(s) (GI #1169893) (NCBI Accession #P42212.1) (Uniprot Accession #P42212). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Goat anti green fluorescent protein antibody recognizes green fluorescent protein (GFP), a 27kD protein which is derived from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. GFP fluoresces green (509nm) when excited by blue light (395nm) and is commonly used as a marker of gene expression. The antibody recognises wild type GFP, but will also detect recombinant and enhanced forms of GFP.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.01% Sodium Azide. Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation: Antisera to green fluorescent protein (GFP) were raised by repeated immunisations of goat with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GREEN FLUORESCENT PROTEIN are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GREEN FLUORESCENT PROTEIN may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
