The GLUL glul (Catalog #MBS2525732) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GLUL Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GLUL can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GLUL glul for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The GLUL glul product has the following accession number(s) (GI #74271837) (NCBI Accession #NP_001028216.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the GLUL Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using GLUL antibody.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical of paraffin-embedded human thyroid cancer using GLUL antibody at dilution of 1:200 (400x lens).)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence analysis of MCF-7 cell using GLUL antibody. Blue: DAPI for nuclear staining.)
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glutamine synthetase family. It catalyzes the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonia. Glutamine is a main source of energy and is involved in cell proliferation, inhibition of apoptosis, and cell signaling. This gene is expressed during early fetal stages, and plays an important role in controlling body pH by removing ammonia from circulation. Mutations in this gene are associated with congenital glutamine deficiency. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.

In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GLUL are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GLUL may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Blood, Brain, Eye, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Mammary Gland, Nerve, Pancreas tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. GLUL also interacts with the following gene(s): CPS1, GAD2, GLS, GLS2, GLUD1.
