The GRIA4 gria4 (Catalog #MBS127641) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GLUR4 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GLUR4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS).Western Blot (WB): 1:500-1:2000
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS): 1:20-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GRIA4 gria4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GRIA4 gria4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #164419734) (NCBI Accession #NP_000820.3) (Uniprot Accession #P48058). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

AMPA(alphaamino3hydroxy5methyl4isoxazolepropionic acid), kainite, and NMDA(NmethylDaspartate) receptors are the three main families of ionotropic glutamategated ion channels. AMPA receptors (AMPARs) are comprised of four subunits (GluR 14), which assemble as homoor heterotetramers to mediate the majority of fast excitatory transmissions in the CNS. AMPARs are implicated in synapse formation, stabilization, and plasticity (1). AMPARs that lack GluR 2 are permeable to calcium, in contrast to GluR 2containing AMPARs (2). Posttranscriptional modifications (alternative splicing, nuclear RNA editing) and posttranslational modifications (glycosylation, phosphorylation) result in a very large number of permutations, finetuning the kinetic properties of AMPARs. Research studies have implicated activity changes in AMPARs in a variety of diseases including Alzheimer\'s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), stroke, and epilepsy (1). GluR 4 containing AMPA receptors are found in synapses and GluR 4 delivery to synapses and cell surface expression is mediated through phosphorylation of Ser842 by PKA or PKC (3).
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide of human GLUR4. Buffer: PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GRIA4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GRIA4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
