The GRIA4 gria4 (Catalog #MBS617843) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GluR4 (Glutamate Receptor) reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GluR4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:500 on rat brain lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GRIA4 gria4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GRIA4 gria4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #164419739) (NCBI Accession #NP_001106283.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q86XE8). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the GluR4 (Glutamate Receptor) with the following immunoassay(s):
Chemiluminescence (Rat brain lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF and probed with MBS617843. Proteins were visualized using a donkey anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates GluR4 (~100kD))
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (IHC staining of rat hypothalamus (low mag) using MBS617843.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (IHC staining of rat hypothalamus (Hhgh mag.) using MBS617843.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (IHC staining of rat hippocampus (low mag.) using MBS617843.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (IHC staining of rat hippocampus (high mag.) using MBS617843.)
Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. This gene product belongs to the kainate family of glutamate receptors, which are composed of four subunits and function as ligand-activated ion channels. The subunit encoded by this gene is subject to RNA editing (CAG->CGG; QR->R) within the second transmembrane domain, which is thought to alter the properties of ion flow. Alternative splicing, resulting in transcript variants encoding different isoforms, has been noted for this gene.
Immunogen: Synthetic linear peptide. Epitope: C-terminal. Species Sequence Homology: chicken, oppossum, chimp and monkey. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GRIA4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GRIA4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
