The H3 n/a (Catalog #MBS617174) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Histone H3, monomethyl (Lys36) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Histone H3, monomethyl can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Gel Shift Assay (GS/EMSA).Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Beadlyte Histone Peptide Assay and Peptide Dot Blot Analysis.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000 detected monomethyl-Histone H3 (Lys36) in chicken core histones. Did not detect unmodified recombinant Histone H3. Recombinant histone H3 and chicken core histones were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with H5110-11N. Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Beadlyte Histone Peptide Assay: 1:10,000-1:80,000 detected only the histone H3 peptide containing the monomethyl lysine 36 modification
Peptide Dot Blot Analysis: 1:5000 detected only the histone H3 peptide containing the monomethyl lysine 36 modification. A dilution series of Histone H3 peptides. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the H3 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The H3 n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #47551065) (NCBI Accession #NP_999709.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Histone H3, monomethyl (Lys36) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (WB: Recombinant histone H3 (H5110-12K, lane 1) and chicken core histones (H5110-10A, lane 2) were probed with MBS617174 -Histone H3 (Lys36) (1:1000).)

Histone H3 is one of the five main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eurokaryotic cells. Featuring a main globuular domaina and a long N-terminal tail. H3 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the "beads of string" structure. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 protrudes from the globular nucleosome core and can undergo several different types of epigenetic modifications that influence cellular processes. These modifications include the covalent attachment of methyl or acetyl groups to lysine and arginine amino acids and the phosphorylation of serine or threonine.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide containing the sequence GVmeKKP in which meK corresponds to monomethyl Lysine 36 of human histone H3, conjugated to KLH. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing H3 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as H3 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
