The HIPK2 hipk2 (Catalog #MBS630601) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HIPK2, CT (Homeodomain Interacting Protein Kinase 2, hHIPk2, DKFZp686K02111, FLJ23711, PRO0593) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s HIPK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry.
Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HIPK2 hipk2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The HIPK2 hipk2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #164420691) (NCBI Accession #NP_001106710.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q9H2X6). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

HIPK2, a member of the KIPK subfamily of Ser/Thr protein kinases, phosphorylates homeodomain transcription factors. It may play a role as a corepressor for homeodomain transcription factors. This nuclear protein has been shown to interact with TRADD. It is highly expressed in neuronal tissues, heart and kidney, and weakly expressed in an ubiquitous way. HIPK2 is a target for sumoylation, and when conjugated it is directed to nuclear speckles.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide selected from the C-terminal region of human HIPK2 (KLH). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing HIPK2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as HIPK2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. HIPK2 also interacts with the following gene(s): CREBBP, DAXX, HMGA1, MDM2, MYB, NLK, RUNX1, SMAD1, SP100, TP53. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Blood, Bone, Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Muscle, Thymus, Uterus tissues are correlated with this protein. Adenocarcinoma, Breast Neoplasms, Carcinoma, Carcinoma, Squamous Cell, Drug Toxicity, Gonadal Disorders, Lung Neoplasms, Neoplasms, Ovarian Neoplasms, Skin Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to HIPK2, CT (Homeodomain Interacting Protein Kinase 2, hHIPk2, DKFZp686K02111, FLJ23711, PRO0593).
