|The Hrk hrk (Catalog #MBS9410318) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Hrk Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Hrk can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Hrk hrk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Hrk hrk product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4504493) (NCBI Accession #NP_003797). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Hrk Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of Hrk in mouse pancreas tissue lysate with Hrk antibody at (A) 2.5 and (B) 5 ug/mL.)
Apoptosis plays a major role in normal organism development, tissue homeostasis, and removal of damaged cells. Hrk, a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 homology domain-3 (BH3)-only group of the Bcl-2 family of proteins, was also identified as novel protein induced during programmed neuronal death. It lacks significant homology to other Bcl-2 family members except for an 8-amino acid region that is similar to the BH3 motif of Bik. Hrk regulates apoptosis through interaction with the anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL via this domain. It does not interact with the pro-apoptotic proteins Bax, Bak, or Bcl-XS. Hrk localizes to mitochondrial membranes in a pattern similar to that previously reported for Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL.
Immunogen Type: Peptide
Immunogen Description: Raised against a 15 amino acid peptide from near the center of human Hrk. Target Name: Hrk. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Hrk are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Hrk may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Brain Diseases, Breast Neoplasms, Cardiovascular Diseases, Disease Models, Animal, Hepatitis, Inflammation, Necrosis, Nervous System Diseases, Ovarian Neoplasms, Seizures are some of the diseases may be linked to Hrk Antibody. Hrk also interacts with the following gene(s): ATF2, ATF3, BCL2L1, BIK, JUN, MCL1, STAT1.
