The protein encoded by this gene is a bifunctional enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative conversion of delta(5)-ene-3-beta-hydroxy steroid, and the oxidative conversion of ketosteroids. It plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of all classes of hormonal steroids. This gene is predominantly expressed in the adrenals and the gonads. Mutations in this gene are associated with 3-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, type II, deficiency. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
Immunogen: Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequene corresponding to amino acids 1-287 of human HSD3B2 (NP_000189.1)
Buffer: PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3.
Calculated MW: 24 kDa/42kDa
Observed MW: 47 kDa. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing HSD3B2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as HSD3B2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Adrenal Gland, Brain, Ovary, Placenta, Thymus tissues are correlated with this protein. Adrenal Hyperplasia, Congenital, Disorders of Sex Development, Hyperplasia, Hypertension, Hypertrophy, Hypospadias, Inflammation, Necrosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Prostatic Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to HSD3B2 Polyclonal Antibody.
