The HSPB1 hspb1 (Catalog #MBS625185) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HSP27, phosphorylated (Ser78) (Heat Shock Protein beta-1, HspB1, Heat Shock 27kD Protein, HSP 27, Stress-responsive Protein 27, SRP27, Estrogen-regulated 24kD Protein, 28kD Heat Shock Protein, HSPB1, HSP28) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s HSP27 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Gel Shift Assay (GS/EMSA).Suitable for use in ELISA and Dot Blot.
Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Dot Blot: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HSPB1 hspb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The HSPB1 hspb1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #11036357) (Uniprot Accession #P04792). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the HSP27, phosphorylated (Ser78) (Heat Shock Protein beta-1, HspB1, Heat Shock 27kD Protein, HSP 27, Stress-responsive Protein 27, SRP27, Estrogen-regulated 24kD Protein, 28kD Heat Shock Protein, HSPB1, HSP28) with the following immunoassay(s):
Dot Blot (DB) (Dot blot analysis of Phospho-HSBP1-S78 polyclonal antibody on nitrocellulose membrane. 50ng of Phospho-peptide or Non Phospho-peptide per dot were adsorbed. Antibody working concentration was 0.5ug per ml. P-Pab: phospho-antibody; P-Peptide: phospho-peptide; NP-Peptide: non-phospho-peptide.)
In response to adverse changes in their environment, cells from many organisms increase the expression of a class of proteins referred to as heat shock or stress proteins. HSBP1 exhibits rapid increased phosphorylation in response to various mitogens, tumor promoters (e.g. phorbol esters) and calcium ionophores, and high levels are associated with carcinoma of the breast and with endometrial adenocarcinomas. Heat shock of HeLa cell cultures, or treatment with arsenite, phorbol ester, or tumor necrosis factor, causes a rapid phosphorylation of preexisting HSBP1, with Ser82 as the major site and Ser78 the minor site of phosphorylation. HSBP1 may exert phosphorylation-activated functions linked with growth signaling pathways in unstressed cells. A homeostatic function at this level could protect cells from adverse effects of signal transduction systems which may be activated inappropriately during stress.
Immunogen: Synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Ser78 of human HSBP1 (KLH). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing HSPB1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as HSPB1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
