The IGF-BP5 igfbp5 (Catalog #MBS840369) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IGF-BP5 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s IGF-BP5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).Western blotting (0.5-4 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Recombinant human IGFBP-5 can be used as a positive control. Other applications have not been determined. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IGF-BP5 igfbp5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The IGF-BP5 igfbp5 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #10834982) (NCBI Accession #NP_000590). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Testing Data
Background: Human IGF-BP5 is a cysteine-rich secreted protein produced by vascular smooth muscle cells. It is the major IGF-binding protein present in bone tissue and helps potentiate the action of IGF-I on smooth muscle cells, fibroblasts or osteoblasts. Studies show that IGF-BP5 acts as a growth inhibitor and pro-apoptotic agent in breast cancer cells. IGF-BP5 overexpressing mice show an increase in neonatal mortality, reduced female fertility, whole body growth inhibition, and retarded muscle development.
Immunogen: E. coli expressed human IGF-BP5. Handling: The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing IGF-BP5 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as IGF-BP5 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Atrophy, Brain Diseases, Breast Neoplasms, Cardiovascular Diseases, Fibrosis, Hypertrophy, Inflammation, Necrosis, Nervous System Diseases, Prostatic Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to IGF-BP5 Antibody. IGF-BP5 also interacts with the following gene(s): FHL2, IGF1, IGF2, PAPPA2, PTH, SERPINE1, THBS1. Bone, Brain, Connective Tissue, Embryonic Tissue, Kidney, Liver, Mammary Gland, Muscle, Ovary, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
