The IKK alpha chuk (Catalog #MBS9409266) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IKK alpha Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s IKK alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IKK alpha chuk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The IKK alpha chuk product has the following accession number(s) (GI #2327068) (NCBI Accession #AF009225). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the IKK alpha Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of IKK alpha in HeLa whole cell lysate with IKK alpha antibody at 1:500 dilution.)
Western Blot (WB) IKK alpha.

Immunocytochemistry (ICC) (Immunocytochemistry of IKK alpha in HeLa cells with IKK alpha antibody at 10 ug/mL.)
Immunocytochemistry (ICC) IKK alpha.

Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) is an ubiquitous transcription factor and an essential mediator of gene expression during activation of immune and inflammatory responses. NF-kB mediates the expression of a great variety of genes in response to extracellular stimuli including IL-1, TNFa and bacteria product LPS. NF-kB is associated with IkB proteins in the cell cytoplasm, which inhibit NF-kB activity. The long-sought IkB kinase (IKK), which phosphorylates IkB, and mediates IkB degradation and NF-kB activation, was recently identified by several laboratories. IKK is a serine protein kinase, and the IKK complex contains alpha and beta subunits (IKKa and IKKb). IKKa and IKKb interact with each other and both are essential for the NF-kB activation. IKKa specifically phosphorylates IkB-alpha. IKKa is expressed in a variety of human tissues.

Immunogen Type: Peptide
Immunogen Description: Raised against a peptide corresponding to amino acids 699 to 715 of human IKK alpha, which differs from corresponding murine sequence by one amino acid. Target Name: IKK alpha. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing IKK alpha are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as IKK alpha may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
