The IL-15 il15 (Catalog #MBS691293) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Anti-Human IL-15 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s IL-15 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Neutr.Western Blot: To detect hIL-15 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant human IL-15 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL-15 il15 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The IL-15 il15 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #10835153) (NCBI Accession #NP_000576.1) (Uniprot Accession #P40933). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

IL-15 is an immunomodulating cytokine that stimulates the proliferation of T lymphocytes and shares many biological properties with IL-2. IL-15 exerts its biological activites primarily on T cells. It is also essential in the development, survival and activation of NK cells. Increased expression of IL-15 has been implicated with rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowl disease and diseases affiliated with retroviruses HIV and HTLV-I. Human IL-15 is biologically active on mouse cells as measured by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of mouse CTLL cells. Recombinant human IL-15 is a 12.9 kDa protein consisting of 114 amino acid residues.
Antibody Generation: Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant human IL-15. Anti-human IL-15 specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing immobilized human IL-15 matrix. Buffer: 0.5 x PBS; pH 7.4
Neutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hIL- 15 (1 ng/ml), a concentration of 0.15 - 0.2 ug/ml of this antibody is required.. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing IL-15 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as IL-15 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. IL-15 also interacts with the following gene(s): IFNG, IL15RA, IL2RA, IL2RB, IL2RG, IL4, IL7, PRF1.
