The IL4 il4 (Catalog #MBS175659) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-IL4 antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s IL4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL4 il4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The IL4 il4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #124338) (NCBI Accession #P07750.1) (Uniprot Accession #P07750). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Interleukin-4(IL4) detection. Tested with WB in Mouse.
Background: Interleukin-4(IL-4), also knowns as a B-cell stimulatory factor1(BSF1), is an immunomodulatory cytokine, which can inhibit the growth of tumour cells. The human cDNA contains a single open reading frame encoding a protein of 153 amino acids, including a putative signal peptide. IL-4 may act as an autocrine growth factor in pancreatic cancer cells and also give rise to the possibility that cancer-derived IL-4 may suppress cancer-directed immunosurveillance in vivo, in addition to its growth-promoting effects, thereby facilitating pancreatic tumor growth and metastasis. The mouse and human genes and their protein products show structural and functional similarities. The human IL-4 gene, which occurs as a single copy in the haploid genome, is mapped on chromosome 5.2 The standard product used in this kit is recombinant human IL-4, consisting of 130 amino acids with the molecular mass of 14KDa.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of mouse IL4 (123-140aa SLKDFLESLKSIMQMDYS). Contents: Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.05mg NaN3.
Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing IL4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as IL4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
