The KMT2D kmt2d (Catalog #MBS9209846) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MLL2 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s MLL2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KMT2D kmt2d for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The KMT2D kmt2d product has the following accession number(s) (GI #148762969) (NCBI Accession #NP_003473.3) (Uniprot Accession #O14686). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

The SET domain is a conserved C-terminal domain that characterizes proteins of the MLL family, including MLL2. The MLL SET domain is a histone H3 Lys4 (K4)-specific methyltransferase whose activity is stimulated with acetylated H3 peptides. The gene for MLL2 encodes a 5,262-amino acid protein containing a SET domain, 5 PHD fingers, potential zinc fingers, and a long run of glutamines interrupted by hydrophobic residues (mostly leucine). They also detected an alternatively spliced form encoding 4,957 amino acids and lacking an N-terminal zinc finger and PHD finger. By analysis of rodent/human hybrid cells and analysis of the Genebridge radiation hybrid panel, they mapped the gene to the 12p13.1-qter region. The 12q12-q13 region is involved in duplications and translocations associated with cancer. By database searching, Karlin et al. (2002) identified 192 human protein sequences that have multiple amino acid runs, many of which are associated with disease, including cancer. Karlin et al. (2002) found that a key aspect of 82 of these protein sequences is their role in transcription, translation, and developmental regulation. MLL2 is a striking example of proteins with multiple amino acid runs, with 22 glutamine runsGenes encoding a significant number of long amino acid runs are potentially associated with diseases, such as cancer.
Antigen Type: Synthetic Peptide. Antigen Source: HUMAN. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing KMT2D are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as KMT2D may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Adenocarcinoma, Brain Diseases, Disease Models, Animal, Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Kabuki syndrome, Lymphoma, Follicular, Lymphoma, Large B-Cell, Diffuse, Seizures, Weight Loss are some of the diseases may be linked to MLL2 Antibody (C-term).
