The MAP2K2 n/a (Catalog #MBS2518161) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MAP2K2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s MAP2K2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
WB: 1:1000-1:5000
IHC: 1:100-1:300. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAP2K2 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The MAP2K2 n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #649151178) (NCBI Accession #AIC62584.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the MAP2K2 Polyclonal Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of Human gastic cancer using MAP2K2 Polyclonal Antibody at dilution of 1:100)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) MAP2K2.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of Human ovarian cancer using MAP2K2 Polyclonal Antibody at dilution of 1:100)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) MAP2K2.

The protein encoded by this gene is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. This kinase is known to play a critical role in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. It phosphorylates and thus activates MAPK1/ERK2 and MAPK2/ERK3. The activation of this kinase itself is dependent on the Ser/Thr phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinase kinases. Mutations in this gene cause cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome (CFC syndrome), a disease characterized by heart defects, mental retardation, and distinctive facial features similar to those found in Noonan syndrome. The inhibition or degradation of this kinase is also found to be involved in the pathogenesis of Yersinia and anthrax. A pseudogene, which is located on chromosome 7, has been identified for this gene.

Immunogen: Synthetic peptide of human MAP2K2
Calculated Molecular Weight: 44kDa. Buffer: PBS with 0.05% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing MAP2K2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as MAP2K2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
