This antiserum was raised in a rabbit which was immunized with synthetic Met5-enkephalin covalently attached onto a carrier protein. The antibody is specific for Met5-enkephalin and is suitable for use in histochemical preparations of tissues or cells. The antiserum has been characterized by RIA. ELISA and immunocytochemical techniques. Dilute the lyophilized antibody with 0.1 ml of 10 mg/ml BSA in PBS for the equivalent concentration of IgG in whole antiserum or with additional buffer for more dilute antibody. The IgG fraction was prepared by precipitation. dialysis. and ion exchange chromatography.
Protein Content = 1.4 mg/vial.
In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing [Met5]-Enkephalin are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as [Met5]-Enkephalin may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
