The MLYCD mlycd (Catalog #MBS6000363) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MLYCD (Malonyl-CoA Decarboxylase, Mitochondrial, MCD) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s MLYCD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).Suitable for use in Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MLYCD mlycd for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The MLYCD mlycd product has the following accession number(s) (GI #110349750) (NCBI Accession #NP_036345.2) (Uniprot Accession #O95822). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful. The amino acid sequence is listed below:

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the MLYCD (Malonyl-CoA Decarboxylase, Mitochondrial, MCD) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of MLYCD expression in transfected 293T cell line by MLYCD polyclonal antibody. Lane 1: MLYCD transfected lysate (55kD). Lane 2: Non-transfected lysate.)
MLYCD, malonyl CoA decarboxylase, catalyzes the conversion of malonyl CoA to acetyl CoA and carbon dioxide. In fatty acid biosynthesis MCD selectively removes malonyl CoA and thus assures that methyl malonyl CoA is the only chain elongating substrate for fatty acid synthase and that fatty acids with multiple methyl side chains are produced. In peroxisomes it may be involved in degrading intraperoxisomal malonyl CoA, which is generated by the peroxisomal beta oxidation of odd chain length dicarboxylic fatty acids.
Immunogen: Full length human MLYCD, aa1-493 (NP_036345.2). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing MLYCD are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as MLYCD may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Blood, Brain, Heart, Liver, Skin tissues are correlated with this protein.
