The MOG mog (Catalog #MBS2525879) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOG Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s MOG can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MOG mog for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The MOG mog product has the following accession number(s) (GI #23270927) (NCBI Accession #AAH35938.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the MOG Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of extracts of mouse brain, using MOG antibody.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human kidney cancer using MOG antibody at dilution of 1:200 (x400 lens))
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human esophageal cancer using MOG antibody at dilution of 1:200 (x400 lens))
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence analysis of HeLa cell using MOG antibody. Blue: DAPI for nuclear staining.)
The product of this gene is a membrane protein expressed on the oligodendrocyte cell surface and the outermost surface of myelin sheaths. Due to this localization, it is a primary target antigen involved in immune-mediated demyelination. This protein may be involved in completion and maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
Immunogen: Recombinant protein of human MOG

Santa Cruz Alternative: Potential replacement for Santa Cruz Biotechnology antibody catalog# sc-32580 / sc-32581 / sc-66968. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing MOG are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as MOG may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Brain, Heart, Intestine, Kidney, Spinal Cord tissues are correlated with this protein. Brain Diseases, Death, Demyelinating Diseases, Encephalomyelitis, Autoimmune, Experimental, Inflammation, Mental Disorders, Necrosis, Nerve Degeneration, Nervous System Diseases, Paralysis are some of the diseases may be linked to MOG Antibody.
