|The NPY2R npy2r (Catalog #MBS611293) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neuropeptide Y2 Receptor (NPY Y2R) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Neuropeptide Y2 Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml; Control peptide (N2176-63P) can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1ug/ml.
Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml (ECL). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NPY2R npy2r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The NPY2R npy2r product has the following accession number(s) (GI #1174046) (Uniprot Accession #P49146). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Neuropeptide Y (NPY), a neuropeptide colocalized and abundantly released with the neurotransmitter norepinephrine in nervous system, synthesized by postnatal olfactory epithelium of sustentacular cells. It promotes the proliferation of postnatal neuronal precursor cells and exhibits a diverse range of important physiologic activities, including effects on psychomotor activity, food intake, regulation of central endocrine secretion, and potent vasoactive effects on the cardiovascular system. NPY a 97aa peptide in mouse, human (chr 7p15.1) and 98aa in rat has a mol. wt of 11kD. NPY shows sequence homology to Peptide YY (PYY) and over 50% homology in amino acid and nucleotide sequence to Pancreatic Polypeptide (PNP or PPY), all of these homologous peptides has a 36aa mature peptide characterized by a hairpin loop.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to 14aa from the ~C-terminus, Cytoplasmic domain of human NPY Y2R (KLH). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing NPY2R are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as NPY2R may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Brain, Nerve tissues are correlated with this protein. NPY2R also interacts with the following gene(s): NPY, PYY. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
