This gene encodes the mineralocorticoid receptor, which mediates aldosterone actions on salt and water balance within restricted target cells. The protein functions as a ligand-dependent transcription factor that binds to mineralocorticoid response elements in order to transactivate target genes. Mutations in this gene cause autosomal dominant pseudohypoaldosteronism type I, a disorder characterized by urinary salt wasting. Defects in this gene are also associated with early onset hypertension with severe exacerbation in pregnancy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Calculated Molecular Weight: 107kDa. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing NR3C2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as NR3C2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Cardiovascular Diseases, Disease Models, Animal, Fibrosis, Heart Diseases, Heart Failure, Hypertension, Inflammation, Kidney Diseases, Nervous System Diseases, Vascular Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to NR3C2 Polyclonal Antibody.
