The OGT ogt (Catalog #MBS9403016) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The OGT Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s OGT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF).Western blotting: 1:500 - 1:2000
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 - 1:100
Immunofluorescence: 1:50 - 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the OGT ogt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The OGT ogt product has the following accession number(s) (GI #32307148) (NCBI Accession #NP_858058.1) (Uniprot Accession #O15294). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human breast cancer using OGT antibody at dilution of 1:100 (200x lens).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human esophageal cancer using OGT antibody at dilution of 1:100 (200x lens).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded rat lung using OGT antibody at dilution of 1:100 (400x lens).)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence analysis of U2OS cell using OGT antibody. Blue: DAPI for nuclear staining.)
This gene encodes a glycosyltransferase that catalyzes the addition of a single N-acetylglucosamine in O-glycosidic linkage to serine or threonine residues. Since both phosphorylation and glycosylation compete for similar serine or threonine residues, the two processes may compete for sites, or they may alter the substrate specificity of nearby sites by steric or electrostatic effects. The protein contains multiple tetratricopeptide repeats that are required for optimal recognition of substrates. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
Immunogen Type: Recombinant Protein
Immunogen Description: Recombinant protein of human OGT. Target Name: OGT. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing OGT are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as OGT may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Breast Neoplasms, Disease Models, Animal, Heart Diseases, Hypertension, Hypertrophy, Inflammation, Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases, Liver Neoplasms, Pain are some of the diseases may be linked to OGT Antibody.
