|The PCSK1N pcsk1n (Catalog #MBS646252) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PCSK1N (ProSAAS, Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 1 Inhibitor, Proprotein Convertase 1 Inhibitor, pro-SAAS) reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s PCSK1N can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PCSK1N pcsk1n for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PCSK1N pcsk1n product has the following accession number(s) (GI #7019519) (NCBI Accession #NP_037403.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q9UHG2). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful. The amino acid sequence is listed below:

May function in the control of the neuroendocrine secretory pathway. Proposed be a specific endogenous inhibitor of PCSK1. ProSAAS and Big PEN-LEN, both containing the C-terminal inhibitory domain, but not the further processed peptides reduce PCSK1 activity in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi. It reduces the activity of the 84kD form but not the autocatalytically derived 66kD form of PCSK1. Subsequent processing of proSAAS may eliminate the inhibition. Slows down convertase-mediated processing of proopiomelanocortin and proenkephalin. May control the intracellular timing of PCSK1 rather than its total level of activity. The function of the processed secreted peptides is not known.
Immunogen: Full length human PCSK1N, aa1-260 (NP_037403.1). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PCSK1N are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PCSK1N may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. PCSK1N also interacts with the following gene(s): CPE, PCSK1, POMC, SCG5. Adrenal Gland, Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Nerve, Pancreas, Pituitary Gland tissues are correlated with this protein. Brain Diseases, Movement Disorders, Nervous System Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to PCSK1N (ProSAAS, Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 1 Inhibitor, Proprotein Convertase 1 Inhibitor, pro-SAAS).
