The PTGDS ptgds (Catalog #MBS9125677) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s PTGDS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF).WB 1:500 - 1:2000
IHC 1:50 - 1:100
IF 1:50 - 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PTGDS ptgds for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PTGDS ptgds product has the following accession number(s) (GI #730305) (NCBI Accession #P41222.1) (Uniprot Accession #P41222). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the PTGDS with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of extracts of mouse heart, using PTGDS antibody at 1:1000 dilution.
Secondary antibody: HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (MBS128200) at 1:10000 dilution.
Lysates/proteins: 25ug per lane.
Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded rat brain using PTGDS antibody at dilution of 1:200 (40x lens).)
The protein encoded by this gene is a glutathione-independent prostaglandin D synthase that catalyzes the conversion of prostaglandin H2 (PGH2) to postaglandin D2 (PGD2). PGD2 functions as a neuromodulator as well as a trophic factor in the central nervous system. PGD2 is also involved in smooth muscle contraction/relaxation and is a potent inhibitor of platelet aggregation. This gene is preferentially expressed in brain. Studies with transgenic mice overexpressing this gene suggest that this gene may be also involved in the regulation of non-rapid eye movement sleep.
Species Reactivity/
Cross-Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat
Immunogen: Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 23-190 of human PTGDS (NP_000945.3). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PTGDS are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PTGDS may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Adipose Tissue, Blood, Bone, Brain, Connective Tissue, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Nerve, Ovary, Testis tissues are correlated with this protein. Atherosclerosis, Cardiovascular Diseases, Depressive Disorder, Disease Models, Animal, Heart Diseases, Hypertension, Infertility, Male, Inflammation, Neoplasms, Experimental, Pain are some of the diseases may be linked to PTGDS.
