The RAD17 rad17 (Catalog #MBS9213549) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RAD17 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s RAD17 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS).WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RAD17 rad17 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The RAD17 rad17 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #520261542) (NCBI Accession #NP_001265551.1) (Uniprot Accession #O75943). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the RAD17 Antibody (Center) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (RAD17 Antibody (Center) western blot analysis in A549 cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the RAD17 antibody detected the RAD17 protein (arrow).)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (RAD17 Antibody (Center) flow cytometric analysis of A549 cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
The protein encoded by this gene is highly similar to the
gene product of Schizosaccharomyces pombe rad17, a cell cycle
checkpoint gene required for cell cycle arrest and DNA damage
repair in response to DNA damage. This protein shares strong
similarity with DNA replication factor C (RFC), and can form a
complex with RFCs. This protein binds to chromatin prior to DNA
damage and is phosphorylated by the checkpoint kinase ATR following
damage. This protein recruits the RAD1-RAD9-HUS1 checkpoint protein
complex onto chromatin after DNA damage, which may be required for
its phosphorylation. The phosphorylation of this protein is
required for the DNA-damage-induced cell cycle G2 arrest, and is
thought to be a critical early event during checkpoint signaling in
DNA-damaged cells. Eight alternatively spliced transcript variants
of this gene, which encode four distinct proteins, have been
reported. Two pseudogenes, located on chromosomes 7 and 13, have
been identified.
Antigen Type: Synthetic Peptide. Antigen Source: HUMAN. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing RAD17 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as RAD17 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
