The RAD51C rad51c (Catalog #MBS178235) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Rad51C Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Rad51C can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).Western Blot Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RAD51C rad51c for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The RAD51C rad51c product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4506391) (NCBI Accession #NP_002867.1) (Uniprot Accession #O43502). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for DNA repair protein RAD51 homolog 3(RAD51C) detection. Tested with WB in Human.
Background: RAD51 homolog C (S. cerevisiae), also known as RAD51C, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the RAD51C gene. This gene is a member of the RAD51 family of related genes, which encode strand-transfer proteins thought to be involved in recombinational repair of damaged DNA and in meiotic recombination. Ana this gene product interacts with two other DNA repair proteins, encoded by RAD51B and XRCC3, but not with itself. The protein copurifies with XRCC3 protein in a complex, reflecting their endogenous association and suggesting a cooperative role during recombinational repair. This gene is one of four localized to a region of chromosome 17q23 where amplification occurs frequently in breast tumors. Overexpression of the four genes during amplification has been observed and suggests a possible role in tumor progression. Alternative splicing has been observed for this gene and two variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence in the middle region of human Rad51C (177-207aa IQHLQLIAEKHKGEEHRKALEDFTLDNILSH), different from the related mouse sequence by eight amino acids.
Ig Type: Rabbit IgG. Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing RAD51C are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as RAD51C may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
