The SCN5A scn5a (Catalog #MBS9407104) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SCN5A Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s SCN5A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC).Immunohistochemistry: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SCN5A scn5a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The SCN5A scn5a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #30089970) (NCBI Accession #NP_000326.2) (Uniprot Accession #Q14524). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the SCN5A Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded Human breast cancer tissue using at dilution 1/30.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded Human ovarian cancer tissue using at dilution 1/30.)
The protein encoded by this gene is an integral membrane protein and tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel subunit. This protein is found primarily in cardiac muscle and is responsible for the initial upstroke of the action potential in an electrocardiogram. Defects in this gene are a cause of long QT syndrome type 3 (LQT3), an autosomal dominant cardiac disease. Alternative splicing results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
Immunogen Type: Peptide
Immunogen Description: Synthetic peptide corresponding to a region derived from internal residues of human sodium channel, voltage-gated, type V, alpha subunit. Target Name: SCN5A. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SCN5A are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SCN5A may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Blood, Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Heart, Ovary, Testis, Uterus tissues are correlated with this protein. SCN5A also interacts with the following gene(s): ANK3, CALM2, FGF12, FGF13, KCNH2, SCN2B, SCN3B, SCN4B. Arrhythmias, Cardiac, Atrial Fibrillation, Brugada Syndrome, Heart Diseases, Long QT Syndrome, Nervous System Diseases, Sudden Infant Death, Syncope, Tachycardia, Ventricular, Ventricular Fibrillation are some of the diseases may be linked to SCN5A Antibody.
