The SEK1/MKK4/JKK1 n/a (Catalog #MBS840407) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SEK1 / MKK4 / JKK1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Dog and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s SEK1/MKK4/JKK1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).Western blotting (0.5-4 ug/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes unphosphorylated and phosphorylated SEK1 from samples of human, mouse, and dog origins. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SEK1/MKK4/JKK1 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

Testing Data
Affinity purified polyclonal antibody to detect SEK1 (MKK4/JKK1) in human, mouse and dog samples.
Background: SAPK/Erk kinase (SEK1), also known as MKK4 or Jun kinase kinase (JNKK), activates the MAP kinase homologues SAPK and JNK in response to various cellular stresses and inflammatory cytokines. Activation of SEK1 occurs thromugh phosphorylation of serine and threonine residues at positions 257 and 261, respectively, by MEKK. Like MEK, SEK is a dual-specificity protein kinase that phosphorylates SAPK/JNK at a conserved T*PY* site in its activation loop. Phosphorylation by Akt at Ser80 inhibits SEK1 and suppresses the stress-activated signal transduction.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 347 of mouse SEK1
Positive Control: Western Blot: Jurkat cell lysate. Handling: The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SEK1/MKK4/JKK1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SEK1/MKK4/JKK1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
