The Setd1a setd1a (Catalog #MBS841357) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Setd1a polyclonal antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Setd1a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA).ELISA: 1:100, Western Blot: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Setd1a setd1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Setd1a setd1a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #55741677) (NCBI Accession #NP_055527.1) (Uniprot Accession #O15047). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Testing Data
Polyclonal Antibody to detect Setd1a in mouse samples.
Background: SETD1A is a component of the SET1 histone methyltransferase (HMT) complex. This complex specifically methylates lysine 4 of histone H3, but only if the neighboring lysine 9 residue is not yet methylated. Methylation of H3K4 represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation. SETD1A shows a non-overlapping localization with SETD1B, suggesting that both proteins play a specific role in the epigenetic control of chromatin structure and gene expression.
Immunogen: Polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit against mouse Setd1a (Set domain containing 1A), using three KLH-conjugated synthetic peptides: two containing an amino acid sequence from the N-terminal part of the protein and one containing an amino acid sequence from the central part of the protein
Positive Control: Western blot: NIH3T3 and embryonic stem cells, ELISA: Peptides. Handling: The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Setd1a are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Setd1a may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Setd1a also interacts with the following gene(s): ASH2L, CXXC1, DPY30, HCFC1, RBBP5, RNF20, SETD1B, WDR5, WDR82. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
