The protein encoded by this gene is a type I transmembrane protein, belonging to the CD2 subfamily of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This encoded protein is expressed on Natural killer (NK), T, and B lymphocytes. It undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation and associates with the Src homology 2 domain-containing protein (SH2D1A) as well as with SH2 domain-containing phosphatases (SHPs). It functions as a coreceptor in the process of NK cell activation. It can also mediate inhibitory signals in NK cells from X-linked lymphoproliferative patients. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
Immunogen: SLAMF6 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 276-305 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human SLAMF6. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SLAMF6 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SLAMF6 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Blood, Bone Marrow, Lung, Lymph Node, Pharynx, Spleen, Thymus tissues are correlated with this protein. SLAMF6 also interacts with the following gene(s): CD48, SH2D1A. Lymphoma, Necrosis, Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to SLAMF6, CT (SLAMF6, KALI, SLAM family member 6, Activating NK receptor, NK-T-B-antigen, CD352).
